Sorry about the question, as I've since seen your response. The pitch change
is an individual option anyway. For instance, in Eloquence I always raise
Shelly, my JAWS cursor voice, to about 85%. In my opinion, the female
Eloquence voices aren't as good as the males. As for Bobby, I'd swat that
little twit upside the head if I had to hang around him too long.

Are you saying you can't change pitch in Voice Adjustment? You should be able
to set it the way you want it, and have it stick. I have fond memories of my
old DecTalk board from the 1990s, especially Betty.

Thank you, Dennis. I really appreciate this thoughtful response. I'm a non-tech
guy, and so talk of command strings makes me nervous, but I'll look at the page
you refer me to. If anything else occurs to you, I'm all ears.

Hi Adrian,
Seems weird, but perhaps Jaws is sending a command string to the DEC talk when
Jaws loads. I'm posting a link below which will take you to a page which
discusses, demonstrates and has some documentation for a current text to speech
chip which is sort of the current DEC talk. There is a DEC talk manual on the
page which should give command strings for the chip which may still be valid
for your DEC talk. The link is:

I will keep pondering this one, and let you know if I think of anything.
best,
Dennis
