Hi,
        The tool bar on the desktop is only present in 98. It's the microsoft
quick launch toolbar and to be honest I really don't see the purpose of
it. To get rid of it, again, this only applies to 98 user's, go to the
task bar and either hit your right context key, if you have a 104 key
keyboard, or do a shift f10. Either way you'll get the properties menu.
The first item is the toolbars submenu. Right arrow in to this, then
arrow down until you hear quick launch checked, hit enter to uncheck it,
and the toolbar is gone.
