Hi there Darrell and all,
Yes, I can add speech synths but would also be interested in information to
add Braille displays manually as I don't really want to install again and
want to start using JAWS with a BLT 40.
Now to your question of the synths.
OK! This is waht you do.
First you need to ensure that the driver you need is installed in your
JFW32 directory. Tell us what speech synth you want to install and someone
will know which driver you need from your CD.
The other thing you need to do is to add an entry to your JFW.INI file. If
you look at that file, you will find that after the Default synthesizer,
you'll probably have an entry which reads something like
Synth1Name=eloq
Synth1LongName=Eloquence Software
Synth1Port=UNKNOWNUNKNOWN
Synth1Driver=eloq
You will probably also have an entry for NOSPEECH.
Synth 1 will be your Default driver.
You need just to add the appropriate entry so let us know what you want and
we can help with that entry.
