JFW and DOS based games

I have recently bought a DOS based baseball game from Howard Hollingsworth. I have JFW 3.2 on a Windows98  machine using the sound card as a synthesizer. The game runs OK but JFW will not read the screens. I have tried it in Full Screen mode and Window Mode but JFW will not read the DOS window . The programmer feels that I need to have an external synthesizer.   Any suggestions. Plus are there any computer games that run well using JFW???
