Hi Jeff and Others
I have no experience with the Nav80 and JFW, but I do use JFW
almost exclusively with the PowerBraille 40 (I use speech
sometimes so that I can be more effective in helping people who
use it), and by and large I find that JFW works very well. There
are problems if you want to use a DOS screen reader to read DOS
boxes (I have never, for example, been able to get taks-switching
working), and I occasionally find that JFW loses contact with the
braille driver. Also, the braille support in JFW 3.2 is much
better than in previous versions, and I have found that the
3.20.19 patch improves things even more, particularly with
Internet Explorer 4.
Jeff, Email me privately if I can be of help to you. You might
also want to subscribe to the "paperless braille devices" list,
which promotes discussion of refreshable braille technology.
Cheers
Bruce Maguire
