Like you, I use to be reluctant to send my credit card number over the internet, but as was pointed out that I have read, you probably are just as much, or even more at risk, when you give it over the phone to purchase something. Also, when you even use it in person, the clerks, or waiters or waitresses in restaurants also get a shot at it. So, I guess when you get down to it, using credit cards can be dangerous anywhere. So always be sure to check your bills completely.
