If H-J chooses not to use this list as an official support medium, that's
fully within their rights.  Having done customer software support, which I
don't believe you have done, I'm fully aware of the potential legal
problems that use of a public mailing list may pose to a vendor who
chooses to use it as an official support mechanism, not to mention the
commitment in personnel that this requires.  Talk is easy, but performance
is frequently more difficult.
