Hi Bill and others,

I've been away for a while, and its good to be back on the list. I do want
to assure everyone that people from HJ have been on the list all along. I
personally lost a hard disk back in late December and had to replace it, and
since have been busy.

I want to let everyone know that we are working to find solutions to the
things that are causing problems. I am certain that you will see fixes to
things coming soon.

Thanks for all the support out there, and keep sending your suggestions to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Many of the new features including new scripts, and
enhanced scripts came directly from users requesting them.

Thanks everyone,
Jim

Subject: Re: jfw 3.3 no big improvements!

roger to be honest many of the upgrade features in this version
like grade 2 braille suppport do not benefit most on this list, though i
find
it a comfort to know that jfw can do braille if needed to do so.

the only other screen reader to add grade 2 charged 90 dollars for that
upgrade, outspoken.
of course its prior version did not even have grade 1.

it can be the differance between a job and no job.

now about window eyes being free, come on now roger it cost 27 dollars for
a
cd copy, 47 dollars if the cd includes vocal eyes.
not exactly generous or fair seeing as how blank cd rom disk cost a dollar.

not saying hj is generous, only that in this market we all get screwed.

look at vocal eyes versus other dos screen readers in cost, if g w micro had
the best windows program they would milk it just like they do with their dos
screen reader.

by the way i think jfw 3.3 supports office 2000.

well dave says it does not work, so my guess is that hj intends to make
scripts
for when it does ship, of course i only base this on the fact their web page
said it would support 2000.

so if they make scripts available then, only a month away.

then i shall stand by my original statement that they pressed the cd rom to
soon.

by the way if i was running hj my first improvement would be to the frame
manager, then to the control plus alt plus delte end task menu
floating frames have been in other products for a long time, and so has
access
to the end task menu.
jfw is still lacking these key features.

still if it is new to jfw then it is new.
the concept that it is not an improvement is based on the fact you can
already
do that with your other screen reader.
well to do that one needs to own the other screen reader.
for those of us that do not these improvements where welcome.
so try to be fair in your evaluation.

my third improvement on my wish list would deal with the a t i video card
support.

by the way i do agree, with you about i e 5, not that window eyes already
had
it, each company releases at a differant time.

i agree and wished that it could load the entire thing like window eyes with
a
on off toggle so that one could turn it off.
that would allow read all to really read all.
their i was dissapointed.

other than that jfw works great with i e 5.

still the idea behind a flat rate for future upgrades does not guarantee the
feature set you want, so for that reason i shall not complain about their
current choice of features.
though as you can see it is not the ones i would pick first.

you can opt for no s m a and decide based on the feature set what you want
to
do and vote with your dollars.

though i suspect it would have no great outcome.
as i said earlier its a small market with limitted choices.
thanks for taking the time to read my comments.
