Hello List,
Would some of you please clear up an area of confusion for me before I
advise more people incorrectly? Please.
I have been suggesting to disability organizations from my State that AOL
is not speech friendly. Therefore any blind employees will not be on an
equal footing with sighted employees if they use AOL as there Internet
Provider. Is this suggestion wrong or the statement in error? I am aware
that there are JFW users using AOL. Do you prefer it or did you not have a
choice? Can Internet Explorer and Outlook Express be used with AOL? If
they can does this create any other problems? What about people who are
networked and need to use Outlook? Are there special issues that arise when
using AOL? Do the JFW Scripts for AOL make it equivalent to other speech
friendly Internet Providers?
I think that should pretty much clear up my confusion at least on this
question. The issue of equal Internet Access is becoming the focal point of
many recent discussions in my area. I will appreciate all input from any
source.
Thanks much for listing.
Till later,
David
