Hello to all of those who are interested in AOL,
I will freely admit that AOL doesn't come out of the box brimming with
accessibility. However with a bit of graphics labeling it can be used for
email and instant messages. I do use MSIE on top of Aol for web browsing. I
have even gone to the trouble of writing some scripts to make things go more
quickly. Unfortunately, something in the new JFW3.31 has broken them.
However, if things are the same with the final release, I have learned how to
modify them. I have not yet released these scripts, because I need some
graphics labeling assistance from others. It appears that my labels cannot be
passed along to others, because their video cards do not see things the same
way mine does. I have also considered writing some how to articles, but have
to do that in my spare time, which is almost non-existant at the moment.
As for access, I rarely connect at speeds less than 42000. I like AOL for
several reasons. I have up to seven mailboxes available to me and my family,
and the parental controls are easy to set. Although I use it pretty much like
any other ISP, my husband and children get a lot of enjoyment out of all of
the online content.
If anyone wants to give it a try, and help me create a collective graphics
file for the scripts, please write to me.
