Thanks Lisa.  I'll try unchecking both.  I should add that when I unchecked
the "grammar" function, I continued to receive the unsolicited advise which
for the most part was nonsensical.  It'd be a pity if one has to throw out
automatic spellchecking with automatic grammar.  The former is useful, the
latter not.
