why do this with the jaws cursor. just use the applications key and navigate
the menus as normal. that is of course unless you want to do it the hard
way. if you want the hard way, do as the previous email suggests.

Subject: JAWS and formatting floppy disks
Hello Daniel and other list members:
Daniel, I am responding to your question about formatting floppy disks.
You are right. The JAWS cursor is the same as moving the mouse pointer
around the screen. The JAWS cursor is able to read information that the PC
cursor cannot. The PC cursor is directly linked to the operation of
Microsoft Windows applications. When you type information, the PC cursor
moves along with each character you type.
As you said, when you first open Windows Explorer, the contents of drive C
is displayed. Windows Explorer is split into two sides or panes. You need
to get on the side of the window that displays your drives. To do this,
press tab. You will land on your C drive. To get to the three and a half
inch floppy A drive, press up arrow. Route the JAWS cursor to the PC
cursor by pressing Insert along with the minus key on the number pad. Now,
click the right mouse button to bring up the context menu. Do this by
pressing the star key on the number pad.
Activate the JAWS cursor again. Use your down arrow until you come to
Format. Press right arrow until the JAWS curser is on the F of the word
format. Click the left mouse button by pressing / on the number pad. The
format dialog box opens. Press tab once to get to the Start button and
press Enter. The disk formatting process begins. When it is complete, you
will be presented with information about the tracks and sectors on your
newly formatted disk. Press Enter to close this information dialog box.
You are still in the formatting dialog box, so Tab to the Start button and
press Enter to format another disk. Repeat this proceedure until you have
finished formatting all of your disks.
E-mail me privately if you wish.
Yours truly,
Derek Czuy
