Dear Mr. Munda:

Thanks for your mail.

In Orissa, 3 years back there was too much noise about 'Naveen Patnaik is an
honest CM'. So I thought this is the right time to push our 'intellectual
ideas' , Industry and global experience and make Odisha is a developed
state. Naveen Patnaik is just like one more politician, who pretends to be
honest but in fact more dangerous than Lalu Yadav, who does open corruption;
Wby more dangerous - people can't throw him out because he is still under
honest mask.

A lot of letters exchanged and responses received. Nothing changed.

What were the suggestions ? Whatever you have mentioned in your e-mail. They
are definitely your, mine, state's and tribal people's priority and must or
nice to have features;but they are not priorities of our elected leaders or
opposition leaders.

Why ? - *ghoda ghas se dosti* karega to khayega kya?

Who are responsible ?

   - Illiterate people, who sell votes for a bottle of Whiskey
   - Literate people, when invited to a political forum, not interested to
go/discuss about grassroots level alternatives.Recently, Mr. Sai Prasan
organized such an initiative, where about 2000+ educated people invited.
   only 30+ people turned up.

Where politicians will get money for election when voters demand Rs. 500/-
for a Vote ?

Even if Voters don't demand, in India our voters will not give even Re 1/-
as a political donation. There is no public financing provision in our
constitution. So there is one source - Industrialists. POSCO, TATA, VEDANTA,
RELIANCE etc.

Why industrialists will pay if they don't get more than their political
donation in return ? And here pollution rules overlooked or bypassed;
environmental concerns of activists bypassed; lands are acquired forcefully
and mining leases are awarded at throw away prices.

This is a life cycle for survival for politicians, as they have to look at
next election; you expect them to show their 'statesmanship'.

Please wake up and be wise. under such circumstances - 'let environment go
to hell', 'let state lose crores of rupees', 'let the whole country go to
hell' but if some Industry comes to my door step - let us welcome that
because I wish to survive first. Let the tigers/elephants/tortoises die. Let
there be pollution. But what is possible that, a greedy and filthy rich
Industrialists will be benefited by coming to my place and *I might get a
low paid job in that company through a labor contractor, who will suck 40%
of my wages.

Please wake up and live in real world..

-Manoj Padhi
