Merely because a judge gave an opinion on corruption, that cannot be
accepted as a gospel truth. It is terribly unbecoming of justice
Mukhopadhyaya to give a comment which, with great respect I say, is
highly irresponsible.

Disconitnuing service of 56 judges of the lower court is a great step
forward in retaining the image of judiciary in the state. But the
statement of the judge that any judge can be bought by money is a
tight slap across the faces of those honest judges who are serving the
judiciary in the state.

People functioning in judiciary are a part of the society which has
also given birth to terrorists, criminals, Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha and
many avataras. Judiciary
is also just like any other branch in the society and the virus of
corruption as a matter of common social ailment also affects it.

Corruption is reflection of a state of mind at a given situation. One
withstands it because of his upbringing and conviction in terms of
morality. This illegal behaviour cannot be stopped by judiciary nor do
we expect that judiciary stop corruption.A person becomes honest only
when he practises it and any deviation from this practice makes him
corrupt. Most of us in urban life, if not directly corrupt, are
beneficiaries of corruption because we accept it as a fact of life. It
can be contained to a great extent only when we unleash a sense of
hate against the act of corruption.

The judge unfortunately exceeded his boundary by making a statement like this.
