Stan
ji,
3rd May,2010.

1. Thanks for the invitation for 2 day Convention on Adivasi Land Rights
organized by Jharkhand Alternative Development Forum on 7th and 8th of May,2010
at SDC, Purulia Road. Ranchi. BUT....sorry, we may not be joining the
Convention just for khana-pina and some intellectual gossip, which normally are
sponsored and funded by forums(NGOs) in connivance with anti-people and
anti-adivasi govts. and MNCs etc.

2. Adivasis are now interested and deeply concerned about concrete solutions
and not in postmortem reports, dissections or projections. The conventions,
seminars and dialogues have been going on for years but of no use to Adivasi
Survival.

3. The Adivasi Survival is at stake mostly today because MEDIA, GOVTS.,
JUDICIARY, BUREAUCRATS etc. are all in the grip of capitalists. The NGOs too
seem today a new organized sinister face of Adivasi Exploitation. They project
themselves to fight for the people but actually serve the end purpose of
capitalist. They talk loud about everything except political empowerment of
Adivasis and other downtrodden poor people.

4. We in JDP and Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan now do realize and believe that for
Adivasi
Survival the protest meetings, protest agitations are no longer adequate
but POLITICAL EMPOWERMENT hand in hand is the only solution. The Dalits have
achieved the same in terms of BSP, which need to grow in leaps and bounds to
suppress the Brahamanical Parties like Congress and BJP.

5. The speakers and organizations involved in the Convention are mostly
non-political in nature and spirit. They may narrate in volumes about the
Adivasi woes but do they agree that Adivasi woes can be eradicated only by
establishing an Adivasi centered political outfit in Jharkhand and Greater
Jharkhand. If no, then they may be misleading the Adivasis and bluffing them.
If yes, then what are their modus operandi?

In our kind of democracy, as defined under constitution of
India, Adivasis, Dalits, Minorities, OBCs etc. can't survive without their
political empowerment. The Adivasis are not even guaranteed their
constitutional and other allied legal rights because non of the parties and
their leaders press for that. Hence it is the need of the hour to build a
strong Adivasi Voice politically even in the national level. Of course, the
Adivasi centered political power must address the following core issues- HASA,
BHASA, PESA, IZZAT, ABADI, ROZGAR, BISTHAPAN-PALAYAN etc.

6. LAND and FOREST are LIFELINE for Adivasis whereas land may be a
salable commodity for others. But land can't be survived without the total
survival of the men and society. The Land Rights of Adivasis are being snatched
away forcibly by Govts.,under control of capitalists. Hence a people's
political will and power is needed to counter the capitalist captive govts. The
unfortunate scenario is that some NGOs and some individuals are inspiring the
affected communities to obstruct and fight against the industries and
structures etc. but they never fight against the parties and leaders
responsible for the same instead they are hand in glove with the guilty
parties.Such shadow fights don't bring any radical change. Nandigram and Singur
are different stories due to distinct political support and force of TMC
against the capitalist CPM Govt.

7. Mahashweta Devi, Medha Patker, B.D. Sharma and now Arundhati Roy etc. have
been loudly advocating the cause of Adivasis but do the Adivasi Survival
getting any lease of life. NO. May we know why they don't give a clarion call
for an Adivasi centered political power? Are they interested just for name,
fame and awards etc.at the cost of Adivasis or sincerely concerned for genuine
Adivasi Survival?

Stan ji, since you on behalf of IADF have invited us for the
Convention, we wish you to kindly convey our concerns and suggestions to the
organizers and all concerned. Instead of half hearted indulgence for Adivasi
Survival let us strive for political revolution. If Adivasi survives, nature
and ecology will survive and in turn mankind will survive.

   Johar,

   Yours sincerely,

   Salkhan Murmu.
