I haven't tried out the XFire support for JiBX yet personally, but from
what I've seen the performance should be about the same. I did try
digging out the JibxSoap code recently, and found that it's
substantially faster than using JiBX with Axis2. I'll try to get this
cleaned up to the point of being usable.

Ideally, I'd like to have a Wsdl2Jibx tool that handles code generation
for both Axis2 and JibxSoap (and perhaps XFire, though I haven't gotten
much out of the XFire people in terms of how that would work), with the
generated code hooking directly to existing server code. That way I
could support essentially the same client interface for both frameworks,
making it trivial for users to switch between the two. That way people
who need WS-Security and such could use Axis2, while those who just want
basic SOAP with high performance could use JibxSoap. I'm hoping to find
a corporate sponsor to provide some support for this work, but so far no
luck.
