As entertaining as it is to read Cassandric ruminations about the imminent death of Java (and almost nothing [0] says 'Summer is here, again, just like every year!' like reading 'death [...] of Java' on some mailing list or other), aside from historically not having had a particularly gracious success rate, such predictions are, at the end of the day, just appeals to emotion.
So even if you may feel that those are powerful statements to you personally, to someone who has read many variations of them over the past decade or so, rather than reinforce the strength of your other more or less technical arguments, they have quite the opposite effect.
