When working with R tables that have factor columns and then have been
converted into Arrow Tables, it's not pretty when we try to call string
functions on those columns (which are now dictionaries)

mutate(x = str_to_lower(Species))
## Error: NotImplemented: Function utf8_lower has no kernel matching input
types (array[dictionary<values=string, indices=int8, ordered=0>])
