I have confirmed that the search bar does not work when extra.js is present, so
extra.js may need to be completely rewritten.
I will submit a PR with all the parts except extra.js fixed and with bootstrap5
disabled so that the existing site functionality can be used.
This allows we to use the functions of the existing site, and if you can
rewrite extra.js later, you can enable bootstrap5.
