Dewey Dunnington closed ARROW-17987.
------------------------------------
    Resolution: Fixed

There were some improvements to that API recently and it's an error that is
particular to switching/rebuilding libarrow/arrow R package builds frequently.
Basically, on package load, the arrow R package sets up some cancellation stuff
and occasionally when you reload the R package it picks up the old version
rather than the new version. A restart of the R session should always fix this
(if it's still occuring, which it may not be).

> I just got the following message when I rebuilt Arrow after pulling from a
> different fork:
> {code:r}
> Warning message:
> Failed to enable user cancellation: Signal stop source already set up
> {code}
> I'm not sure exactly what it is or how to reproduce it (it disappeared after
> I restarted my R session), but we might want to check that end users won't
> end up seeing this?
