Tom Bentley commented on KAFKA-5536:
------------------------------------

Isn't it simply that the Kafka core is all written in scala, and the other
components are written in java? I think if the tools in core were in java and
the rest of core were in scala that would be more inconsistent.

> Hi,
> is there any specific reason why tools are splitted between Java and Scala
> implementations ?
> Maybe it could be better having only one language for all of them.
> What do you think ?
> Thanks,
> Paolo
