Is there a reason we don't change the HashMap to a Concurrent*Map and just call `size()` on it? This way it becomes very clear that we expect some sort of a concurrent operation to happen on the map and we would like it to be ordered with respect to other operations and we do not have to rely on people knowing they need to interact with the `producers` map via additional functions? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
