It seems that code was copied from
`ShareConsumerImplTest#testFailConstructor` with some improvements -- for
example, the `appender` now gets closed :)
@gensericghiro Do you have a free cycle to file a MINOR patch to fix it in
`ShareConsumerImplTest#testFailConstructor`?
