I'm happy to take this task if available.
I'd imagine we'd want to simply create a new sharable, standalone
`ReaperThread` class that could easily be shared between both of these
components. We could also allow the existing `
SystemTimerReaper` class to accept and optionally own/manage the thread in
cases where its used as well.
