Thanks for filing the ticket. It seems one of both issues was already fixed via
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-20721.
I think we should fix this at least for 4.5.0 and 4.4.1 release – maybe even
backport to 4.3.x but not sure if there will be another bug fix release after
the currently lined up 4.3.2 (and not sure if we could catch the 4.3.2 train...
