Thanks. – I do agree that these bugs are severe, but Apache Kafka has only a
1-year maintenance window, and 3.9.x is older, so there won't be any new
bug-fix releases for it; 3.9.x is officially archived (cf
[https://kafka.apache.org/community/downloads/#archived-releases]). With the
upcoming 4.4.0 release, even 4.1.x would drop out of the maintenance window,
and only 4.2.x and 4.3.x will get more bug-fix release (actually already
proposed):

So if these bugs are a problem for you, upgrading is the only way forward (or
maybe working with a commercial vendor with longer support windows for older
