Alexander Lehmann commented on KAFKA-21329:
-------------------------------------------
I have tried the new version of the commands and I could create the cert and ca
without problems, so that is precise for the current version of Java JDK 25
I have a few additional comments to the text not directly related to the
commands:
* the text mentions the validity period of the created private key, this is
not necessary since the validity applies to the self-signed certificate that is
created, which is not used at all when creating a ca-signed certificate later
(this is around L43)
* the section about PEM format is not showing the backslash in the text, I
assume this needs to use 2 backslashes (around L234)
That's all I have noticed

> The current [Encryption and Authentication using
> SSL|https://kafka.apache.org/43/security/encryption-and-authentication-using-ssl/]
> docs page is quite outdated as pointed out on the [mailing
> list|https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/5p8fzwdq8zxb0rld2k4tv5wxyfz2wzd9]
> The page should be updated so the steps work as written on supported JDKs
> (17&25 as of now).
