@mjsax, following up now that 4.4.0 is out: KAFKA-21070 is targeted for 4.4.1 and 4.5.0, as you noted on the ticket. Could you take a look when you have a chance? @lucasbru, I'd also appreciate your input if you have time. The PR still merges cleanly with trunk, and CI on the current head is green. The only intervening trunk change to these files is KAFKA-21253, which does not overlap with the interrupted-removal or updater-join changes here. The design question in the description remains open: after an interrupted removal wait, cleanup continues and the interrupt status is preserved. An interruption alone does not cause shutdown to throw. Would you prefer an exception to be propagated after cleanup instead? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
