PositionSerde.serialize sized its buffer with Byte.SIZE, Integer.SIZE and Long.SIZE, which are sizes in bits, so the buffer was up to 8x larger than needed. Callers use array(), so the stored position and the changelog position header carried the unused zero bytes. Use the sizes in bytes instead. deserialize ignores trailing bytes, so positions written before this change can still be read. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
