The question is: does mm2 use target topic offsets to infer delta between 
clusters or use target offset from the internal mappings?

I suppose first means that mm2 could skip some messages and not replicate them 
from upstream to downstream.

Second means that mm2 replicate all the mesages from upstream to downstream 
regardless from other producers to downstream remote topic.
