SP4: Thumb files are not available for users
--------------------------------------------
Key: DOC-277
URL: http://www.jahia.org/jira/browse/DOC-277
Project: Jahia Document Management Server
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Media Gallery
Affects Versions: Jahia 5.0 SP4
Environment: Sp4 20665
Reporter: Stephane Croisier
Assignee: Thomas Draier
Fix For: Jahia 5.0 SP4
Thumbs files are created correctly for classical users (not root) but are not
displayed in the file manager interface (only for root) despite the fact that
permissions are ok for classical users on such files. Users can not select
thoses files trhough FCK too.
Why?
The second issue is raised when root removes some permissions on a thumbnail.
When the user reconnects and switch in "image mode" the system "sees" that such
a file already exists and display an error image at the place of the file.
This is even worst when a classical user tries to delete images with "hidden"
thumbs. Such thumbs are not deleted and are then only visible by root but are
not linked any more to any original parent files.
This always lead to the same question: how do we bind thumbs with the original
file? Could we manage collection of bound files under JR? Is this an
improvement we want to do for Jahia 6.0+?
