To reduce the size of the file you have to transfer, please do the following
cleanings before compressing:
_ delete the logs (jahia.log in tomcat/bin and tomcat/logs/* )
_ delete the temporary files ( tomcat/temp/* ). This directory can be huge,
especially if you have used import/export feature (site import, content
copy/paste, distant replication, ... )
_ delete the files extractions (jahia/WEB-INF/var/fileextraction/* )
You can also delete the search_indexes (jahia/WEB-INF/var/search_indexes/* ).
Those files are useful, but can be regenerated after your environment has been
restored. So keep it if your it is a few part of the total size, or you have to
transfer your data for a search/indexation issue. Delete it in other cases.
