Installation: check if Jahia DB already exists. If this is the case, try to
reuse existing DB schema and content
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JAHIA-3859
URL: http://www.jahia.net/jira/browse/JAHIA-3859
Project: Jahia Web Content Management Server (WCMS)
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Installation and Environment (J2EE, Apache,...)
Affects Versions: WCM 6.0 (Andromeda)
Environment: Alpha1
Reporter: Stephane Croisier
Assignee: Islam El-Sayed
Fix For: WCM 6.0 (Andromeda)
We should try to check if the existing DB already exists when installing a
fresh version of Jahia. Currently you need to recreate each time a new DB
instance and then manually repoint your new fresh build to your old DB. We
could make some sinmple checks to verify if the DB is already populated with
some Jahia table and avoid recreating everything in such a case.
Of course the wizard should then be modified consequently in such a case to
stay coherent (no template to choose, site to create, etc...). We should also
make sure that templates, etc... are correctly deployed in case there is some
multiple virtual site instances which already exist, etc, etc...
