Stephane Croisier commented on TEMPLATES-556: --------------------------------------------- As discussed today by phone, there is a risk of high confusion between a "People" template and the Jahia user properties or preferences. This also risk to bring confusion towards a new public view of the MySettings page (à la OpenSocial with listing of activities). Currently fields are very close to the back-end end-user propoerties (cf screesnhot). If we want to keep such a "birography" page we should try to clearly distinct such fields form the existing end-users properties. Ideally spekaing we should be able to deliver default values in such a container mapped to the user's properties and in a read-only synchroniszed manner. So a change of the phone number in a LDAP directory would automatically change the phone number of such a page. Even better, this should go trough a single centralized "user profiling" service which can reuse some content existing in the user properties, in some user preference or in some LDAP properties with perhaps some other classical Jahia fields through the combination of some OpenSocial like API. > Web template set , updating its template list > ---------------------------------------------- > > Key: TEMPLATES-556 > URL: http://www.jahia.net/jira/browse/TEMPLATES-556 > Project: Jahia Default Templates / Web Design / General Usability > Issue Type: Bug > Affects Versions: Templates 6.0 Beta > Reporter: Anna Afshar > Assignee: Clement Egger > Priority: Major > Fix For: Templates 6.0 Beta > > Attachments: screenshot-1.jpg, screenshot-2.jpg > > > Please move these templates from 'web template' set to 'web template- > sandbox': > All template fields > People -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://www.jahia.net/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira _______________________________________________ jira_list mailing list jira_list@jahia.org http://lists.jahia.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jira_list
