Yes, JMeter 1.7.1 and beyond is based on the "src_1" directory. The reason is I changed the JMeter architecture considerably a while back (before 1.7 came out), and I didn't want to intefere with 1.7 going forward, so I made a new source directory to work it out in. I have vague plans to eventually transfer back to the "src" directory.
