Ah (relief!).  Ok, when I read your email, I realized I'd broken many config 
elements in one fell swoop over the weekend, (but these changes are not in 1.7.3).  
I've just now committed changes to the CVS that should rectify the situation.  So, 
update your CVS and try again.

BTW, setCookieManager() is never explicitly called.  Instead, addTestElement() is 
called, which gets routed to addCustomTestElement() in HTTPSampler.  You can 
see what that method does.
