Having said that, we might be able to make something work...it just might not look like the current HTTP proxy does. For example, we might be able to make the "proxy" really act as the client, so that instead of browsing to https://www.server.com/mypage, you would browse to something like https://localhost/www.server.com/mypage, and JMeter would translate as necessary. Not completely transparent, and it wouldn't work for 100% of the situations, but it might catch 90%. In any case, the first step at tackling this is to get a good understanding of what is there today, and getting the code cleaned up a bit so that it can be modified as needed. So I'll start with that and see where it goes from there. Anybody else is welcome to take a look at it too -- I don't actually have a need for this function right now, so I might not get around to it as quickly as others might like.
