I don't necessary see major revision number as breaking backward compatability. It 
could signal a change or potential change, like the shift to bean approach you worked 
on.
 
I think as long as we tell the users our intent and plans moving forward, 2.0 isn't 
necessarily a bad thing. for myself, it would motivate me to play with the new bean 
architecture and see how the accessLogSampler would migrate over.
