It closes the JMS QueueReceiver:

        // close consumer, session & connection
                if (consumer != null) {
                        try {
                                consumer.close();
                                if (session != null)
                                        session.close();
                                if (conn != null)
                                        conn.close();
                        } catch (JMSException e) {
                                e.printStackTrace();
                        }
