nesting Simple Controllers inside of another Simple Controller

I am using Apache JMeter 1.7

I have 4 Simple Controllers:
        Controller A
        Controller B
        Controller C
        Controller D


Controller A contains the following:
        Controller B
        Controller C
        Controller D


Is it legal for me to nest Simple Controllers inside 
of another Simple controller?

When I run my test, Controller B executes.  Controller C
and Controller D do not execute.

Help!

p.s. - I have only been using JMeter for a couple of hours.
        I already studied the user manual and the documentation.
