Jan,

I agree it is a feature that most big organisations at least would need for
JMeter to be a useful product. It is common for even testing environments
(and even our development environment) to have firewalls and proxies.

In case you are looking for an immediate solution however I did post a
message to this list about a week ago with the source code for a hack that I
applied to JMeter to get it to work in my environment until a version of
JMeter comes out with proxy authentication support. I'm not trying to
promote it, but if you need something before a release with proxy
authentication comes out you are most welcome to use it, or use it as a
guide to modifying the code yourself.
