How do I turn the SSL off? Are you referring to modifying the browser options or options within JMeter.

This is not possible given the nature of SSL and trying to pass through the proxy server. If this is the case, turn SSL off on a development machine, record the script, and then search and replace the protocol and port in the recorded script.
