You may notice the spaces are stripped before and after certain elements, such as the 
'&' and 
'<' characters, which get encoded for XML format.  This is a known bug of the Avalon 
Configuration tool, and as soon as they make a release that fixes it, it'll be fixed 
in JMeter as 
well.  For now, I suggest taking advantage of various regular expression special 
characters to 
get around it.
