That's interesting. You should know, though, that the JDK JMeter runs under is entirely independent of the JDK your app runs under (I'm assuming you're referring to your server app). Since JMeter only talks HTTP to it, it could be written in C, Python, Perl, whatever - it makes no difference. It is entirely reasonable for JMeter to run on whole different platform from the server it tests.
