I am also unable to connect to an Oracle database usign JDBC. I am using JMeter 1.8 release and have tried the oci and thin drivers for Oracle9i. I was able to connect to the database DBVisualizer with both drivers. URL and class were similar to those below. classes12.zip and nls_charset12.zip were added to the classpath as per the Oracle documentation.
