Do you mean to say you want to match a string that's located somewhere in several lines of text?
For example, given these lines of HTML, do you want create a regular expression to extract the value of the first height attribute encountered (the string extracted would be 1)? <tr><td colspan=3><table width=100% cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0 bgcolor=eeeeee><tr><td height=1><table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0><tr><td height=1></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></td></tr> <tr><td colspan=3></td></tr> ~Alan Chan -----Original Message----- From: prabhu varma [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 15, 2004 11:29 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Suggestion for Regular Expression in Multiple Lines.
