I was reiterating Michael's thread/user below and was hoping to get
responses (affirmative or negative) from the rest of the users... I know
I've used 10 threads and saw our application slow down (on our Test server).

What calculation are you using to get this number?

Is there any way of determining real time what the current number of
concurrent users is when a test is running?

Thanks
Shawn

I've often wondered what the equivalent of threads to actual users and
have
seen various figures but
is this about right ? 10 threads to 100-200 actual users ?

Thanks,

Georgia

I've distributed my load across multiple computers when running with a
lot
of users. BTW, I usually equate about 10 threads to about 100-200 actual
concurrent users. The number of users the number of threads seems to
represent is actually about 10-20X the thread number. This is because
the
threads are not throttled by default. If you put on 100 - 200 threads
but
throttle requests to like 10 seconds or so between them then it will
serve
the same purpose (just about) but take up a ton more resources and not
be
all that different than just 10 non-throttled threads.

Im using JMeter 1.9.1 with a jsdk1.4

I have tried to disable the incremental garbage collector but it was not
sufficent.
