Hi,

I have a test plan that I can execute locally with no problem. The green
light comes on, the Aggregate Report numbers update in real time, and
traffic shows up on the web site. Life is good.

I set up a remote server and fired it up with no problem. I added the
remote server's IP to the jmeter.properties file. When I bring up jmeter on
the local machine, the IP address shows up in the Run => Remote Start menu.
So far, so good.

When I click on the IP number or on the Run => Remote All menu item, nothing
appears to happen -- no green light, no Aggregate Report numbers, no log
file. However, some traffic shows up on the web site. Is this normal? If
so, how can I tell if the remote server is actually working other that
reading web server log files?

Some other newbie questions, if you don't mind:

If I have multiple remote servers, is there a way of controlling which
threads run where or does each server just run the whole test plan?

Where are the listener files written -- on the remote servers or are they
aggregated and written to the controller server?

I have heard that the remote servers do not scale well. Is that true? If
so, what is the limit factor? (I need to get to 4,000 users so I am going
to have to do the multiple servers).
