Storing/View Large Results Files

What is the recommended way to handle large results files. It appears 
that storing as XML will not work for large (>50 MB) files, correct? 
(Seems to be DOM-based read.) My goal is to run nightly/weekend tests, 
then archive jtl files for future reference. Would storing as CSV be 
sufficient, or do I need to further tweak the properties.
