I suspect the poster was talking about a different proxy here - the
internal JMeter "proxy" server does not work with https, however
external proxies can work with https.

The error message:

indicates that JMeter cannpt resolve the host name www.google.com.
This suggests a problem with host name lookups, and will prevent both
http and https samplers from working.
